The name “Fürperger” can already be found in a deed of ownership around 1500. In 1579, the then owner “Bartlme Fürperger von dem Christoffen Khirchpichler zu S.Gilling” bought half a fisherman’s blessing. This marks the foundation of our fishing rights and thus the close connection to fishing, which still plays an important role for us today. Over the centuries, this fishing right, which has been tied to the property in an unbroken sequence ever since, has been continuously expanded. Today it covers an area of 450 hectares - a third of the magnificent Lake Wolfgangsee.
Our traditional Hotel & Gasthof Fürberg is located in the middle of the picturesque landscape of the Salzkammergut. Since its first mention as “Gut im Renzenwinkel” in 1350, this property has undergone a remarkable development. From the establishment of our fishing rights in 1579 to the permission to run an inn in 1708, the hotel has a long tradition of fishing and hospitality. Today, as one of the hotels on Lake Wolfgangsee, Fürberg offers a breathtaking backdrop for your unforgettable vacation.

In 1897, the first summer guests began to discover our region and inspired our predecessors to build a villa as a summer guest house. In 1904, the old inn was finally carefully renovated to meet the growing demands. From this point on, a sunny veranda adorned the newly designed house, which now also has a new outbuilding and a boathouse.
